Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Representation ID: 641

Received: 25/10/2023

Respondent: Kent Downs AONB Unit

Representation Summary:

The Landscape Character Assessment Update of the Kent Downs AONB (2020) and AONB Management Plan could form part of the evidence base. For any potential allocations impacting on the AONB and its setting, a Landscape Sensitivity and Capacity Assessment would be helpful.

What will the council do if targets are advisory? Will they reduce targets to reflect ACTUAL need? Also, its imperative to have conversations with National Labour Party to be prepared for any changes they may make if they get power within the next year.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Representation ID: 1068

Received: 30/10/2023

Respondent: Medway Green Party

Representation Summary:

Medway for historical reasons is much more densely populated than its neighbouring authorities and consequently even in Standard Method terms is a ‘special case’. For example, in 2021 Medway had 1,454 people / sq. kilometre and Maidstone Borough Council had 395 people / sq. kilometre. The Council must stand up for the actual needs of its residents.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Representation ID: 1752

Received: 31/10/2023

Respondent: Phillip Ivory

Representation Summary:

I hope that Medway doesn't delay implementing a Local plan for the sake of waiting on an NPPF update that was only promised by the PM to calm down back bench MPs. Medway deserves a Local Plan ASAP to control housing that gets approved BECAUSE Medway doesn't have a Local Plan.
