Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Representation ID: 1050

Respondent: Kitesfield Estates Limited

Agent: Bloomfields Ltd

Representation Summary:

In accordance with Paragraph 5.41 of the Local Plan, large-scale development around Hoo St Werburgh and neighbouring villages could provide for planned growth, where new housing is supported by new and improved services and infrastructure. Such development could also help to meet the Council's ambitions for greener growth, with higher environmental standards in construction, communities better connected for walking and cycling, and within easy reach of local services.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Representation ID: 1360

Received: 31/10/2023

Respondent: Mrs Elizabeth Turpin

Representation Summary:

When the HIF was promoted the council widely informed people that development of that scale could not come forward without it. Now with the loss of HIF residents are told it will come forward anyway. This is a clear contradiction of what has been told by council planning officers who have said only 1000 more properties come come forward. This is without the increase of industrial traffic that has since increased due to the growth and successful promotion of Kingsnorth.

Agree that large scale development in Hoo St Werburgh and small sites in neighbouring villages, such as Chattenden have considerable potential to make a substantial contribution to meeting Medway's greener growth needs subject to improvements in services and infrastructure.
