including these housing solution are a great idea if you have the income to pay of the property in the first place and also the monthly ground rent and service charges that these company ask for. Has this been taken into consideration?
Not every Medway older person has this amount of disposable income, again only attracting from outside the local area.
What are these residents supposed to do?

More bungalows needed. Not all older or disabled people need assisted living or care homes. Many could cope perfectly well in bungalows, but they harder to find as many are being converted to chalet bungalows, removing their usefulness to people needing single story (not apartment) homes.

Support. Needs to be in urban centres/ close to public transport and local centres. The development in Rainham is a prime example of this!

Please see covering letter from The Planning Bureau dated 6th September which includes the following recommendation: Although we support policy T4 the following bullet point should be removed from the policy to ensure it is justified and effective: ‘Meets a proven need for that particular type of accommodation’.

As older generations live longer, more consideration should be given to people who have contributed to the well being of the Medway area.

[REDACTED] I hate change and the reasoning for most of my answers is because I'm angry that developers and yourselves are in my mind destroying what is effectively my home [REDACTED] that I have grown up in from day 1 for [REDCATED] years

The majority of supported housing, nursing homes and older persons accommodation in Medway is sub-standard and does not relate to what is stated.

Large supported living areas are unmanageable. Staffing is very difficult. The work is relentless. Supporting people in their own homes is best. People can manage for longer periods on their own environment. To succeed social services need to be more realistic and to pay experienced carers a decent wage and proper apprenticeship training for othets

Older persons' accommodation can include urban flats and urban housing. There should be purpose built 1 or 2 person houses such as in Kitchener Barracks. Small does not have to mean pokey. Holland offers examples of small housing units.

Proposing to build in Allhallows overlooks the critical shortage of essential facilities for the elderly. The village has one small nursing home, which very rarely has spaces and will soon close down. The alternative is a similarly inadequate facility in Stoke, which has also faced closure threats for years. There is a notable absence of supported housing and accommodation for older persons. As I live with my parents, both in their 60s and in poor health, the lack of care facilities means I will have to pause my life to care for them, highlighting the urgent need for better provision.

You should ask older people what they would like. Many don't want to be separated from the rest of the community in supported housing complexes or nursing homes, they want to be in their own homes and community they have grown old in. Older people feel isolated and abandoned, council should enable the support and care for older people within their own home and community.

This is both a nationwide problem and a national problem, which also requires staff - the very people that some members of society wish to keep out of the UK. A desperate situation for all councils.
