We agree that 142 Luton Road (former Elephant and Castle pub) should be included in the boundary of SP: Luton Road, Chatham. However, we disagree with the proposal to include 1-16 Harnan Court. This new-build property is purely residential in use and does not offer any commercial or community functions. It does not meet the assessment criteria and as such should be removed from the boundary.

There is no longer a shopping parade in Cliffe, however, there is a small parade of shops in Cliffe Woods.

I live in Allhallows, and while we certainly need more shops and improved infrastructure, we do not need additional houses. Our current infrastructure is already stretched thin, and we struggle to manage the existing housing. Adding more homes without addressing these critical issues will only exacerbate the problems we face. The focus should be on enhancing our local facilities and infrastructure to better support the community we have, rather than increasing the housing burden.
