Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Representation ID: 1851

Received: 22/07/2024

Respondent: Mrs Stella Tiller

Representation Summary:

Explain how developments like Gibraltar Farm and East Hill will generate lower levels of car use? The positioning of these developments will only increase car use. Public transport in Medway towns is not fit for purpose.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Representation ID: 2835

Received: 06/09/2024

Respondent: Option Two Development Ltd

Agent: DHA Planning

Representation Summary:

Given that the Strategic Transport Assessment referred to in this policy has not been provided as part of the evidence base, the overall requirement is not yet fully known so that no detailed commentary can be made on this policy. However, given that the proposal is in the urban centre of Medway and is an “indicative” site allocation, it should be considered exempt from this policy's requirements due to the site's accessible location.

Representation ID: 3845

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mrs Elizabeth Turpin

Representation Summary:

Unsure as to why development proposals in urban centres would be exempt due to accessible location as development in these areas will put a strain on an already busy road network. contributions need to come forward to assist with road layouts and management to keep traffic flowing.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Representation ID: 3946

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Miss Rachael Selleck

Representation Summary:

Building in Allhallows will inevitably increase the number of cars on the road, as the area lacks sufficient infrastructure to support additional residents. With limited local amenities and services, people will be forced to drive long distances for their daily needs, worsening traffic congestion and pollution. The roads are not designed to handle a higher volume of vehicles, and the infrastructure cannot realistically be upgraded to accommodate the growing population. Consequently, the expansion will exacerbate these issues, leading to more traffic problems and environmental impacts, as Allhallows was never intended to support such a large number of people.
