My adult children still live at home. Even children with good deposits and good jobs cannot afford to rent or buy locally. However, this is also difficult because a house of 4 people working in 4 different directions currently need 4 cars, so parking is needed to support houses having more adults than they were designed for. Poor quality housing should not exist,everyone deserves a safe, minimum quality of housing.

A mix of housing stock is ideal but can we also begin to add in small houses and flats on larger plots, allowing for smaller families who supplement by growing their own.
More community allotments would also really help as the waiting lists for these are huge and locations limited.
Balconies could be bigger, making the most of outdoor living and growing, even for those who cannot afford a house with a garden.

While I acknowledge the great pressure on current and future housing needs, I want to ask that care is taken to build not just houses but a sustainable thriving communities with shops, services and communal spaces and facilities that cater for all ages especially youth centres available. If this is not done, you will end up with 'trouble
estates' prone to vandalism and isolated people.

Is there any chance of trying to re-occupy empty property? I know this is a suggestion made by central Government and suggestions that empty property tax in such cases should be removed.

Again I have no idea what the answers are when objecting. Really who understands this! New builds are profit making for the builder. They are never affordable for the general people of Medway. They eat up land without solving the ever growing problem. Repurpose buildings. Help get poor housing into a liveable state. Housing led growth supporting wider investment, I disagree. It creates lifeless soulless communities with more stress on parking and travel.
