We support the vision for the plan which seeks to identify sites that will enable people to live healthier and longer lives. We consider that site HHH19 could provide a safe, connected and sustainable place to live and work which aligns with this vision. The immediate proximity of the Deansgate Leisure centre to the west of site HHH19 would further promote and encourage healthy living.

Any homes delivered must be high quality energy efficient and the right blend of housing
Enhancing not harming the uniqueness of that particular part of medway.
Provision for the travelling community must be included to stop any problems we have encounter in the past.
A great importance must made for our elderly population to make sure there is sufficient housing for whatever there need is.

MORE WAFFLE if you are serious then developers must provide social housing in spades. How are you going to persuade the elderly to down size if they own the property are you going to send in the jack boots in? As for the public realm the existing country parks are too far for many to walk to and you have just instituted car parking fees.As for the rest another load of WAFFLE đŸ§‡

Individuals can improve their own health if they choose to do so. The State can attempt to influence behaviour but it can not force a change. There are numerous existing opportunities to participate in walking, exercising and other leisure activities. I would prefer bigger plot sizes to give families mote living spaces than allocate land to communal use that has to be maintained at cost.
Cycling on public roads is dangerous.
The NHS remains a poorly managed services that has failed to provide services that communities need.

This plan will create more inequalities.
Poor Air quality will increase the death rate, particularly for those who already suffer the consequences of poverty and poor health. Hopefully the death rate due to poor air quality will incur court action for the local government who will be held responsible.
As a health professional I take CO readings of pregnant women on a daily basis and I am informing them why their levels are high if they are non smokers due to the poor air quality in Medway, they are shocked and worried about the effect on their unborn baby.

Surely the main thrust is to build social housing As for mentioning Travellers not so long ago a group of travellers were evicted from their site on Lower Rainham road for contravening planning regs. Most of the population of medway need to travel by car to use the country parks on top of that you have instituted car parking fees on the country parks that's a deterrent to start with. As for elderly down sizing if they own the property how can you move them dragoon them?

Increase pollution is problematic with the local plan. More housing means more cars. This will have additional pressure with already being impossible to get gp appointments and a hospital that cannot cope. The demand is not fo those in medway but externally as medway residents cannot afford properties so this is a conflict with you plans.

The opportunity for water sports is immense, but river access and clean water go hand in Hand. With water sports supported there is scope for health lives and the opportunity is low cost and on our doorstep

Let's be honest—these new builds are not high-quality at all. Have you even asked the residents? They would certainly disagree with your assessment. The plan claims to reduce health inequalities by promoting physical activity, mental wellbeing, and access to nature through green infrastructure, yet you plan to build on green spaces, which contradicts that goal. None of this exists where I live in Allhallows. Additionally, taking away green spaces and increasing pollution by adding more cars has an extremely negative effect on people's health and wellbeing. You can't just focus on central Medway; the entire area needs support, including Allhallows.

Make the commitment to the resources GP schools.Green space and infrastructure first .
Developer never have truly made a commitment to any of the above it's all to do with profit .
More cars more carbon ,Step back and look again as for affordable houses to have carbon friendly home isn't just about having an electric car charging point. The impact on materials used should be looked a long with draining.water supplies roads access and public transport and the facilities local to that area not 10 miles away.

During lockdown, many of Medway's residents discovered the green spaces, walking in woods, on public footpaths in green areas, removing this will increase health issues, not reduce them, while phyiscally bike paths are being provided, what about the emotional well being of those who feel increasingly hemmed in, who can no longer hear the bird song, have to deal with crowding of thier homes? How does this loss of green lung help those of us who struggle with lung conditions? Short termism comes to mind again

This is not housing needs of Medway residents as the increased housing is being occupied by people moving to Medway as they are not able to afford homes in London. What protections are in place to ensure that the new housing is for Medway residents?
I was not able to identify the proposed support for the gypsy and traveller communities as highlighted. Where are the new sites going to be for this currently there is only one in Medway on a disused car park, this does not provide security for them and still marginalises them to the other residents.

Chatham Docks is a 400-year old commercial port and a vibrant, working dock operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The docks employ over 800 people – many of whom are local. There are also existing jobs in the supply chains. There are over 2000 jobs dependent on the docks.
Chatham Docks must be both supported and protected in the new Local Plan. The new Local Plan must strike a balance in identifying new sites for housing but not to the detriment of existing jobs and existing important employment generating uses.

Carbon is not going to kill us, this is a new cultish religion that has no place in a local plan. It is simply a mechanism to pile costs onto the taxpayer. As you intend to build over rural and farmland, I am not sure how this equates with 'safe green infrastructure' and 'mental wellbeing'. I don't think the council should be busying itself with nanny state 'healthy food choices' its council tax payers may choose nor not to make. Supporting start ups, innovation, entrepreneurship and the young is important. A covered market on Ironmonger's Yard site would be ideal.
