Vision for Medway in 2041

Representation ID: 2414

Received: 04/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Sergio Nogues

Representation Summary:

Better infrastructure and planning of public services in line with population growth: building homes is good but those homes will need GP surgeries, schools (with at least one non-private option), etc.
Young people have generally nowhere to go and neither do the elderly for the most part.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Supporting people to lead healthy lives and strengthening our communities

Representation ID: 2418

Received: 04/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Sergio Nogues

Representation Summary:

Young people have nowhere to go without spending money, which they generally don't have. They can enjoy, learn and engage with the community in a wide range of activities, if given the right spaces and equipement... which in time will prove to be a huge money saver by reducing vandalism and crime etc.
Both young people and the elderly feel isolated, lonely and very alienated. This also translates into a much higher social care expenditure. There are many examples of how other cities have addressed these problems successfully.

Securing jobs and developing skills for a competitive economy

Representation ID: 2419

Received: 04/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Sergio Nogues

Representation Summary:

The points made below are good but essentially new families don't want to settle in areas that look & feel dirty and run-down, roads full of potholes and without playgrounds for children. This is a problem in many areas across Medway.

--Please fix the tarmac on Maidstone road from the Shell gas station to Blue Bell Hill is undrivable and unsafe.
--Garbage collection would be a lot more efficient (and economical) if we had big containers every second corner instead of the door-to-door approach.

Representation ID: 2423

Received: 04/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Sergio Nogues

Representation Summary:

--Whatever the option, people need to have services & amenities nearby. Nobody really wants to move into a neighbourhood here you need to drive for everything. Provide services & amenities + offer clean streets and new residents will surely flock to Medway. In essence, it is simple.
