Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Vision for Medway in 2041

Representation ID: 2595

Received: 05/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Wayne Spring

Representation Summary:

We need to retain as much open space and farm land as possible and not develop on marshland. Transport infrastructure is not planned well enough in Medway to link with Kent. Your main roads are completely inadequate. No strong evidence on carbon neutral.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Prepared for a sustainable and green future

Representation ID: 2596

Received: 05/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Wayne Spring

Representation Summary:

Wanting to build on the flood plains is not going to be well received and shall increase the flood risks especially if the climate is to change on the current reports. This is going to require serious consideration and thought. Likewise, trying to stem carbon emissions will not be greatly achieved if you build on farmers land. We are not London. We are part of the garden of England which rapidly seems to be the carpark of the South East.

Representation ID: 2598

Received: 05/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Wayne Spring

Representation Summary:

I accept houses need to be built to serve a purpose but the new builds now are not really fit for families. They are or appear to be poorly constructed. You want to have green spaces but you're building on so many. The poor public transport which is expensive and unreliable. Cars are a necessity. I accept London central you can live without a car but they are serviced by many forms of public transport and regular. We are not London.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

3.2.1

Representation ID: 2603

Received: 05/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Wayne Spring

Representation Summary:

I am worried that you are considering building on the docks. I think there has been far too much development in Rainham. We have such a lack of doctors and schools for these and in all fairness the plan does not adequately deal with this. Option 3 is out of the options the best but is far from perfect.
