Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Vision for Medway in 2041

Representation ID: 3534

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Steve Clark

Representation Summary:

Gillingham town centre has been left behind the other towns and needs urgent investment and renew.

The Strand the the Great Lines could be great assets to the area but need a plan to make them better and more appealing to attract locals to use them.

No more fields should be ripped up for housing as the towns are congested enough as it is, and it will be impossible to make the infrastructure improved enough to match the increase in housing.
Urban renewal would be a better option. The intra area has a lot of potential.
