Policy T27: Reducing Health Inequalities and Supporting Health and Wellbeing
Representation ID: 3959

The push to build new housing must take into account the health services available in the catchment area. The existing services especially like Medway Maritime hospital cant cope with the current population, so simple ratio of beds/residents in a given region or ward must be increased. I suggest to enable local clinics of which I have been to 3 (Rainham, Gillingham, & Rochester) need to provide extra or expanded services to reduce demand on hospitals. For example, I should be able to get an x-ray at my local clinic & not need to visit a hospital.

Spatial Development Strategy

I want to see clear info-graphics to help better visualise data & form opinion. What does not seem clear is existing land usage compared to planned land usage. Medway Council must know how every square foot of land is used by category, from residential, business, parks, health service, etc. I want to see clear map of land usage, then stats for % of land use by category & key ratios of categories by region or ward. IE, in Rainham, what is ratio of residential properties to healthcare services by capacity or area, & how do future plans compare.

Policy DM4: Noise and Light Pollution
Representation ID: 4030

I'm a keen amatuer astronomer & member of local astronomical society. Due to neww building development, the risk from light pollution is never ending threat. The enjoyment & opportunity of viewing faint deep sky objects (DSOs) gets worse with each passing year as new housing & business developments expand. All forms of light pollution must be employed on new builds & all old style street lighting must be changed to new, more effective & efficient lighting designs. If future generations are to enjoy looking at night sky, ground threats need as much consideration as the threat from satellite deployment.

A:hydrogen powered vehicles:
I saw an article back in summer that a london borough had a fleet of hydrogen powered buses to use but most were confined to depot as legislation for required H2 filling stations couldnt get govt. planning approval. I work for a company developing H2 ICE powertrain solutions for commercial vehicles like buses & lorries, so dont repeat.
B:pot holes:
Whether we have electric, hydrogen or normal fuelled vehicles, if situation with potholes on roads does not get sorted ahead of new housing development, problem will get worse & cause more disruption with more traffic on roads.
