Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Vision for Medway in 2041

Representation ID: 1798

Received: 16/07/2024

Respondent: Ms Wendy Taylor

Representation Summary:

I can not see how this can be achieved by adding to the population. Main roads are clogged already as there is little alternative routes. Cars on pavements, reduce flow through side roads. Not sure how that achieves net zero. Attractions need excellent public transport and/or parking facilities.

I can not see how this can be achieved by adding to the population. Main roads are clogged already as there is little alternative routes. Cars on pavements, reduce flow through side roads. Not sure how that achieves net zero. By contemplating building on greenfield or reducing farmland will drastically reduce wildlife and the space people have to relax and destress. Antisocial behaviour, littering etc will increase. Attractions need excellent public transport and/or parking facilities. Good quality of life also includes decent housing, not rabbit hutches, feeling safe to walk out after dark, a functioning hospital, GPs and dentists etc.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Prepared for a sustainable and green future

Representation ID: 1799

Received: 16/07/2024

Respondent: Ms Wendy Taylor

Representation Summary:

How do you improve public transport with already clogged main roads through our towns? How will you get people to change from car to bus or train?
How will you deal with the extra water and sewerage created by the population growth?
How will you protect our wildlife areas as most litter clearance seems to be done by volunteers.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Boost pride in Medway through quality and resilient development

Representation ID: 1800

Received: 16/07/2024

Respondent: Ms Wendy Taylor

Representation Summary:

I support the strategy to use existing brown field, bringing used or older houses back into use. Refitting unwanted office building etc. We have a need for social housing for our own residents at a reasonable cost.
Health wise, try shutting a few of the vast amount of fast food outlets!

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Vision for Access and Movement in Medway

Representation ID: 1826

Received: 18/07/2024

Respondent: Ms Wendy Taylor

Representation Summary:

A2 Watling Street. Ashtree Lane. Chatham Hill always clogged at peak times. People going to work, children going to school. How can reduce this? No other route through this part of Medway. Areas such as Hempstead are just full of cars now, causing congestion as the road are narrow and curved. Families with children could have 3 or 4 cars. Actually every road is pretty packed with cars. Cycling, the kids don't even cycle to school these days [REDACTED]. Not safe to do so, to many parents out dropping them off in cars!

Policy S4: Landscape protection and enhancement

Representation ID: 1827

Received: 18/07/2024

Respondent: Ms Wendy Taylor

Representation Summary:

To preserve these valuable areas you are going to need some sort of wardens. We deal with the litter, antisocial teen behaviour and fires here ourselves at present. None of us are getting any younger! More people means greater negative impact on the area.
Have you noticed how [REDACTED] Medway looks in many areas?
