The proposed new housing developments around the Hoo Peninsula and High Halstow face strong opposition due to several key concerns. These include the excessive scale of the plans and the area's inadequate infrastructure, such as poor transport links, overstretched medical facilities, drainage and flooding issues (especially in High Halstow), a shortage of school places, limited parking for commuters, and already overwhelmed emergency services. Expanding residential areas without addressing these issues fully will seriously impact the quality of life and safety of current and future residents.
