Policy needs to be amended to make clear that Green Belt sites where the Grey Belt exception applies can be considered appropriate locations for Traveller sites.
This list of exceptions is unrealistic and will simply be used to thwart provision. All across the north coast of Kent new housing is having to be permitted outside settlements on agricultural land with Grades 1-3a (eg see Swale).
Land in FRZ2 is frequently permitted where it can be demonstrated the risk can be mitigated and the sequential/ exception tests are met.
Exceptions have been made for sites in National Landscapes in Medway.

The concept plans are v poorly reproduced in this documents-they are just a blur
I am struggling to understand why so much time, money and effort was spent evicting Travellers from land they owned and occupied off Lower Rainham Road near Riverside Country Park when the Council is now proposing that Lower Rainham be earmarked for new development
Why could provision not be made for a Traveller site?
Why can the council not now admit that the land they cleared has potential for a Traveller site?
