Medway Local Plan (Regulation 19, 2025)

Chapter 6 – Housing – sets

Representation ID: 4344

Received: 06/07/2025

Respondent: Mr Stuart Hofford

Legally compliant? No

Sound? No

Duty to co-operate? Yes

Representation Summary:

The current plan, notwithstanding the previous objections, still envisages the destruction of irreplaceable green belt and prime agricultural land for the development of housing. This housing is not beneficial to existing communities and often is used by other agents to relocate non resident individuals out of their current locations and provides relatively little benefit to Medway residents.

Furthermore, the infrastructure and health and schooling facilities in Medway are already struggling to cope with current demand and traffic levels.

Representation ID: 4345

Respondent: Mr Stuart Hofford

Legally compliant? Yes

Sound? No

Duty to co-operate? Yes

Representation Summary:

The plan does not sufficiently recognise the adverse impact of the loss of green area and the natural environment, e.g. the loss of green belt. This will have an irreversible adverse impact of the wellbeing of existing Medway communities.
