Shuttered shop fronts could be spray painted with art, based on the type of shop it is, thereby advertising itself even when closed.

The mix should be weighted 50/50 market housing/council or affordable. We need a lot more affordable homes for local people.
Market prices are simply too high, including rentals, as you have identified in this section.
37 is far too old for first home ownership and simply supports a vastly inflated rental market.

There is increasing concern about the viability of this scheme long term and many shared ownership participants are struggling to sell and move on the property ladder.
It sounds a great idea but the reality is proving somewhat different.
We need housing that people can afford without doing it this way.

This makes lots of sense and frees up housing stock for families.
But the flats are often extremely expensive and a maintenance fee is then paid on top meaning some elderly folk we know stay in their old, unsuitable homes instead.

This is a fabulous idea which we have seen work in various commercial/industrial areas around the world.
This would encourage the active movement between the Gillingham waterfront and the town centre - something sorely lacking. It would also be something to visit as a tourist as well as greening the area and off-setting road pollution.
This shouldn’t be considered an opportunity but ‘a priority’.

It is a long time in the making!
Whole estates have been planned and built whilst this site has gone nowhere.
It does nothing to help with tourism, waterfront walks and photo opportunities.
Please get on with developing this site.

Can they be triggered at points all the way along, as ground works are completed, as each batch of houses is finished, as planting is put in etc?

A fair point - what happens if their demonstration is inaccurate and the trip generation is much higher than anticipated?
Is the discount then rescinded and a full contribution required?
