Medway Council green belt review occurred without local residents being informed or public consultation. If green belt land is redesignated or boundaries reviewed this should be done with transparency and public engagement.
If Gravesham develop the land under their control and Medway allow development on what is currently green belt land, urban sprawl will join Gravesham to Medway, defeating the primary purpose of green belt.
National guidance states that for land to become grey belt it should have been previously developed.
Chapter Farm is and has always been crop producing land .

This development between Gravesham and Strood West will erode the green belt encouraging urban sprawl.
Local roads are regularly congested due to their proximity to motorways and major roads.
Strood already suffers from a lack of GPs surgeries and Medway Hospital, which also serves Swale, is under severe pressure, which has been highlighted by the CQC.
Medway suffers from a high number of people with respiratory disease further development will exacerbate this.
The impact on residents' mental and physical health will be profound, impacting further on the NHS.
