The Plan proposes large areas of high quality arable farm land currently used for food production (eg Hoo Penninsula and land West of Strood) to be utilised to meet new housing targets. I believe this will actually make the future of Medway less resilient in the context of para 1.2.5 by adding more pollution, contributing to increased temperatures and reducing our self sufficiency on food production

- Failure of the Plan to adopt a brownfield - first approach
- The erosion of Greenbelt land is contrary to national planning principles
- The local area has inadequate infrastructure to support the scope of the development proposed (eg roads, utilities, transport, drainage, emergency services)
