The document must also include disabled residents. The Highcourt has dealt with wheelchair access issues. Namely 2023 EWCA Civ 1496 dated 20 December 2023. Sarah Leadbetter v SoS for Transport. Para 8. TRL research also highlighted kerb heights were not assessed for wheelchair users. Hence the design of crossing points should accommodate wheelchair users as well as vision impaired walkers.

With over 10,000 new housing in the area, proposed a Development Corporation is required to staff the department required for this massive development proposal. Staffing numbers have not been mentioned in the development proposals to date. Or will external consultants with no local knowledge; again be used. Will Hoo coalesce with Chattenden?.

Developments have been approved that do not have traffic calming and do not have footways. This is bad planning. The Bellway Site off Street End Rd is one example. It is not safe for children, parents and wheelchair users.
