Having worked at Medway hospital for nearly 40 years, and seen the increasing demands on the staff and bed availability, I would have thought that this would be the appropriate time to ask for government funds for a new hospital where acutely ill patients would not have to be nursed in corridors, and it would be possible to get an appointment with a GP. There do not seem to be adequate plans in place to cope with the large increase in population predicted.
