Medway is facing issues with abandoned buildings, including a fire-stricken building near the Great Lines Heritage Park in Gilingham. The building, filled with needles, rats, and debris, poses a danger to the community and should be converted into a public space, not houses. Gillingham's High Street needs significant regeneration, particularly for students and families, due to outdated architecture, broken brickwork, poor streetscape, and lack of public seating. A more attractive High Street could attract big retailers and improve wellbeing, proving a beautiful landscape can encourage outdoor activities.
