Greatly support this, good environmental planning now will protect Medway into the future and provide a good quality environment for future residents.

Again you've mentioned that just under 5% of land in Medway is greenbelt, so why is it making up 7% of the houses suggested? This is disproportionate.
Purposes of the policy are currently being met but what about if these sites all go through? Development in upper bush will erode the gap between Cuxton and Halling and cause these two distinct villages to be closer to coalescence. Additional development in Halling causes coalescence with Holborough. This increase of traffic on the a228 will also severely negatively impact all residents, especially with LTC on the way.

Completely agree that development should be in proximity to the transport networks and services in Strood. Development on Bush Road in Cuxton is far from the station on a road with no pavement and no way of putting pavement in which will only add to the danger of the a228 junction. There was previously section 106 money to improve this junction but nothing was done and the junction remains extremely dangerous.
LTC makes the greenbelt ever more important to mitigate the air quality and pollution impacts of the crossing and to protect Medway residents from the serious health impacts.

Agree that where needed it should be strategic and provide new services. Though greenbelt land in Medway should be protected rather than built on. If you need land in Halling why not use the remaining parts of the cement works that have formed most of st Andrews park?

There is no case for development in the AONB and the impact on the landscape cannot be mitigated. The Vineyard site was turned down on the same site due to the impact on the AONB and that was to be largely underground. There is absolutely no way that housing would be less obtrusive, especially a site that is considerably bigger than the rejected development and in clearer view from Brockles field (a key viewpoint) which the planning inspectorate agreed would be seriously damaged by development in this area. This would be a tragedy for future residents.

Such sites would be entirely car reliant and so add substantially to the issues on the a228, especially with the planned development in T&M on the same road. Development in Cuxton would have no footpath, trains would be 20min away for a fast walker and the bus route for the village is constantly under threat due to the lack of parking making roads unpassable already. The development on pilgrims way faces the exact same problems. Of the sites suggested Strood is the most appropriate but still far away from trains.

Completely agree with this statement. The greenbelt should be protected and other land should be used. Especially when Medway doesn't have much greenbelt to begin with.

Agree entirely with the potential for energy and green technology in Medway. These would help the councils climate emergency declaration and provide highly skilled jobs for the area.

Transport will be integral to achieve the desire for high value jobs as highlighted in 6.58.
