Not ambitious enough. Should be wanting to be a regional power within the South East and Thames Estuary, and utilise our strong connections to Europe and London. Gateway waterfront city.

These have been very successful. Further waterfront development also a great draw from a marketing and external investment perspective.

The quantum of house building must come from urban regeneration and new villages within the rural parts of Medway. Rainham has already seen a significant amount of development around the fringes, and there is limited scope for further redevelopment without wholesale infrastructure coming forward, which given how constrained the town centre is already is very unlikely. Infrastructure will be the significant problem with suburban extension.

Building in these areas that are not designated greenbelt are important to the overall deliverability of the plan and without rural development the plan is unviable.
