Infrastructure on the peninsula is horrendous. In our parish we have bad roads, no main drainage or gas, unreliable electricity and abysmal internet connectivity…..

Medical services are already stretched beyond capacity. If only 5000 homes are built on the peninsula, with an estimate of 3 persons per household , this would require an additional 6-8 fully qualified GP full time equivalents. Medway cannot attract GPS now!
Our pharmacies are also stretched beyond capacity.
Energy efficient new homes require heat pumps. Our energy supply is dire. Since 1st Jan we have experienced 28 power cuts. Whilst most are mere seconds they require resetting of sensitive equipment.
Food shops ..Hoo and village shops offer basics otherwise leave peninsula to shop.

Whilst worthy goals, as applied to possible development on the Hoo Peninsula there appears to be no realistic prospect of delivery now that HIF funds are not available.
Our roads simply cannot cope with the increase in traffic even delivery of a third of the options put forward would result in.The Ratcliffe Highway from Fenn Corner to Allhallows is already too dangerous to walk along even to a bus stop. The bus service is poor and iI wanted to use a bus to attend a class in Hoo I might have to wait 2 hours for a return trip.
