Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Prepared for a sustainable and green future

Representation ID: 1017

Received: 30/10/2023

Respondent: Mr Graham Crawford

Representation Summary:

Many roads in the more rural areas of Medway are narrow and to improve and encourage walking and cycling would mean widening them . This surely would entail purchasing land to do so perhaps compulsory and more expense.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Securing jobs and developing skills for a competitive economy

Representation ID: 1019

Received: 30/10/2023

Respondent: Mr Graham Crawford

Representation Summary:

How can you support local jobs to grow when there is a desire to close Gillingham port at the expense of 800 jobs.
Just how do you propose to improve the skills of local work force when the council is almost broke? Is private enterprise coming in to do that?

The plan's vision is to

Representation ID: 1555

Received: 31/10/2023

Respondent: Mr Graham Crawford

Representation Summary:

You're joking many footpaths are in a worse state than roads. Crumbling, uneven, and often narrow very bad for those with mobility problems and mobility scooters. Buses are not direct routes particularly from Rainham South .ie to get to Tesco from Hawbeck road bus goes all round the houses car goes straight there.

5.14

Representation ID: 1573

Received: 31/10/2023

Respondent: Mr Graham Crawford

Representation Summary:

How about including council tax payers and residents as well as builders etc. Surely one constraint is adequate schools, surgeries, not withstanding the fact that MEDWAY Maritime Hospital is overwhelmed now let alone with 28000 odd houses at end of plan. No good getting builders to build surgeries where are the staff coming from thin air. MEDWAY will be concreted over by 2040.
