Climate Alarmism and resulting NetZero policies must not strangle the local economy and control local peoples freedom through green taxes and fines for non compliance. We still suffer from a cost of living crisis and unnecessary ineffective Covid Orwellian controls that damaged our economy and wellbeing. The public must not be forced or frightened into a Chinese style of social control or a Stone Age type of existence. Climate portfolio holders for climate change include alternative views held by eminent scientists: Dr Richard Lindzen, Physicist Andy May, Dr Judith Curry, Dr John Christy and Dr William Happer.

Professor William Happer used the Equation of Transfer to produce modelling spectra that match measurements. He calculated a doubling of human caused CO2 over the century. Using the Stefan Boltzman formula this change modelled + 0.71C global temperature. Global greening is at a high demonstrating plants thrive in higher CO2. Bjorn Lomborg demonstrates it is more cost-effective to use taxpayer’s money for adaptation to mitigate the risk of severe weather episodes eg Maintain forests properly with firebreaks produces less fires & less severe fires. Burnt area of global forest 1900 - 2020 has decreased from about 4.0% to about 2.50%

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)
Supporting people to lead healthy lives and strengthening our communities

People live in Kent to escape a London City lifestyle and its political control over their lives and freedom. Adding more population to areas that are already mature and challenged in regard to the number of GP services, road congestion and essential infrastucture must stop. Large developments should take place at new sites. You need to provide reasonably priced housing for young people and help create well paid jobs so that mortgages are affordable. I am sure that lots of families still have adult children living with them even when the parents have retired because of the current situation.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)
Securing jobs and developing skills for a competitive economy

Poverty, excessive taxes, regulation and fines for non compliance, loss of freedom and access to jobs lead to the biggest shortening of life span and quality of life. We live in a technological 21st Century society that has risks and is motorised. The oppressive use of risk mitigation under ‘its for the good of the people’ banner becomes a type of communist control with associated loss of freedom. Every proposal must comply with the following standard: Is it necessary, lawful, proportionate and accountable? Capitalism produces wealth and raises every-bodies standard of living. Education should focus on producing skilled trade-persons.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)
Boost pride in Medway through quality and resilient development

You need motorised transport to get around in Medway. Remove parking charges where possible and provide places to park. Lower business rates and support the small trader for Medway economy to thrive. Medway is hilly and almost rural and people cannot bus, walk or cycle everywhere to replace what they need to do with a lorry, van or car. To talk of car dependency is out of touch and patronising. This is bringing London thinking into Kent policy. Medway is not a 15 minute city and ULEZ, LTNs 20mph blanket speed limits and similar oppressive anti-motorist measures do not work.

You must not resort to anti-motorist policies to tax and fine the motorist to raise this money. Neither should you keep raising Council Tax. Everyone is cutting back and making financial efficiencies so should the Council focus on the bottom line of quality value for money services. You need to look at new services that can bring in revenue like a Council filming and events section for example.
