Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Prepared for a sustainable and green future

Representation ID: 1340

Received: 31/10/2023

Respondent: Mrs Anita Soloman

Representation Summary:

...through seeking a variety of adaptations and mitigation measures - variety will bring greater benefits.
...reduce the risk of flooding; combat/manage drought/water resources, promoting the use of nature-based solutions - to help address the water stress issue.
....secure a robust and accessible green and blue infrastructure network - useable for everyone.

In general, the Board would encourage an aspirational approach trying to seek significant betterment with schemes having multiple benefits e.g. a SuDS scheme not just considered against runoff, hydraulic performance and water quality but also against amenity and biodiversity objectives/goals.
