The Hoo peninsula is a vital habitat for migrating birds etc. Roads, with their constant noise, and people in homes ( maybe with cats) threaten these habitats, which, as known to Dickens, were in their way isolated and desolate and which have become havens for wildlife away from people. Britain is a degraded habitat, especially England, and we need to protect those we have left.

This should be with the consent of the Businesses and the workers. Chatham Docks is viable and as far as I can see should not be turned into high rise flats. THe businesses there have shown that they are viable and that they want to stay. Similarly Medway City Estate would entail a loss of jobs and it is very important that jobs get equal billing with housing.

Chatham Docks area / Chatham maritime does not have railway links and the buses are poor. There is also congestion and poor air quality

This takes us back to the fact they are asking for too many houses. This is not London!

Is it actually the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty? Your description sounds vague as if you are trying to get around it?

This requires a detailed consultation by experts just as has been done already with the Hoo peninsula, although we were not allowed to see the results of that one!!

THIS IS THE SAME as for other developments and should be covered by section 106??. Proximity to the M2 could be good for business.

There is an opportunity here for infrastructure development and co-operation with Maidstone, which is exceeding its targets. If only we could get on!!
