Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Prepared for a sustainable and green future

Representation ID: 1365

Received: 31/10/2023

Respondent: Mrs Hayley Webb

Representation Summary:

I do not agree with this plan, by building on these areas, this is likely to assist with the Lidsing Garden development from Maidstone and would be catastrophic for the surrounding areas of Hempstead and local wildlife. Roads are already busy in and around Hempstead, the plans will destroy much of the green areas that Hempstead residents value greatly. Building on these areas on the plan will urbanise many of the villages, making it feel more like one large town. With more homes and the same amount of roads, there will be more congestion defeating the zero carbon objective

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

Supporting people to lead healthy lives and strengthening our communities

Representation ID: 1369

Received: 31/10/2023

Respondent: Mrs Hayley Webb

Representation Summary:

By developing in these areas, it will put increased pressure on an already struggling Medway hospital and local GP surgeries and medical centres. The areas planned for development already provide beautiful places to enjoy walks in nature, which my family and I benefit from. To destroy the nature that’s already there seems illogical. As with retail, there are already shopping centres (Dockside, Pentagon, Hempstead Valley) with empty units, surely it would be better to fill these up before creating any more retail spaces that could end up staying empty
