We should avoid building on rural land unless it can be demonstrated that it is no longer viable for agricultural land.
Developments should be kept small to avoid overwhelming existing residents.

There should be no building on greenfield or greenbelt until all other available land is exhausted.
Greenbelt should only be built on as a very last resort
Development should be kept small to avoid overwhelming existing residents

The area around Hempstead is under particular threat from Maidstone Borough Council's plans to build a garden village at Lidsing. It would be grossly damaging to the quality of the lives of residents of Hempstead and to a lesser extent Wigmore if Medway Council approved more housebuilding in Capstone.
Loss of important green lungs to residents in surrounding areas and It is unclear how the road infrastructure is going to be developed to handle the huge increase in vehicle movements in the direction of Hempstead and Wigmore (via Bredhurst) and to Boxley and Maidstone.
