The recent developments in Hoo St Werburgh have bene addressing the housing issue for south east London and not local medway residents. On the development that have been built over the last 15 years, 70% of the new hosing has been taken up by people move from London to Hoo St Werburgh, in that time the public transport has been reduced and has lead to high motor vehicle usage on the A228. As well as address future needs, the local plan needs to address the lack of infrastructure that there currently is on the Hoo Peninsula. Any reference to meeting climate goals should also include how to improve the current housing goals to meet the reduction in CO2 emissions otherwise you will leave the exit residents behind and loss their support and engagement.

Regarding education, currently all the Grammar schools are on the east side of the River Medway, which means that if a child wishes to attend a Grammar school, they will have a long bus journey (unreliable if they have to use the Public buses) or need parents taht have the financial budgets to get them to the school by car. To improve education outcomes for some of the lowest families, consideration needs to be given to relocating one of the Grammar schools to the west side of the river Medway

Parking is very restricted in Strood and the car parks provided by the current supermarkets are limited to short time periods, this driving shoppers to out of area. Any future planing for Stood should address parking issues and how to provide longer stay car parking, so people stay longer and spend more in the local business. With the river front, Strood has ideal opportunities as a destination and link in with Rochester hight street., but there are issues that need to be addressed.
