Representation ID: 3384

This vision sounds excellent but we are so from it at present l cannot imagine how we have the resources to meet all these wonderful dreams . Where will the funds come from to improve/retrofit our old housing stock for a start?

With only 466 beds in our local hospital and a conurbation of over 250,000 people we badly need a new hospital .

High Quality design is subjective but so far with some of the flats along the riverside this hasn't really been followed with some of them just looking like boring boxes.I would like to see a more colourful look as they have in Holland .

Wouldnt it be nice if all new developments had some small plots allocated for individual self builds, green buildings as well as some modern architectural gems (perhaps local architectural students could be invited to design some futuristic designs ).

Perhaps there should also be a definite objective to house LOCAL people before London overspill as this is currently harming our sense of community and causing resentment .

If only we had actual "affordable housing " rather than the ludicrous interpretation of "affordable" that we have at present . We need social housing that is not sold off .We need social housing that is for the community that actually needs it .Small families , single parents ,the disadvantaged elderly .

We self built our home on Cityway - completing it in 1999, we used a self build mortgage but l am not sure they are available any more .I am passionate about this being a possibility for more people and would like small personal plots available on big developments precisely for these.

Perhaps planners should afford the small developers more flexibility with the planning - just like they do with big developers who seem to get away with falling short on their duties to the community .
