Policy DM3: Air Quality

Representation ID: 3724

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Bryan Fowler

Representation Summary:

Air quality should be given greater emphasis and AQM are no use unless improvement is seen to take place. Air quality should be measured more widely and transparently e.g. in the Paddock, The Brook. Results must be recorded on the Medway Council website. The DEFRA threshold for new builds generating traffic which exceeds the current threshold should be challenged as they are almost impossible to fail

Policy DM10: Conservation Areas

Representation ID: 3747

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Bryan Fowler

Representation Summary:

A review of Conservation Areas must be considered and areas such as New Road Chatham focussed upon. Medway Council should never have allowed the traffic from its reconfiguration of Chatham to have despoiled this area; this needs addressing and remedial action to help residents conserve homes should be effected. Advice should be given and future, similar proposals should not meet with the hostility Medway Council demonstrated. It should also be explained, not all conservation areas contain old buildings e.g. Kitchener Barracks. Residents living there and site developers should be purposefully guided.

Representation ID: 3756

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Bryan Fowler

Representation Summary:

There seems no awareness of the effect of UCA closing as many of its students lived in rented and purpose built housing in Rochester. Perhaps the vacant accommodation could be re-purposed but not as HMO type accommodation
