Representation ID: 3770

Received: 08/09/2024

There is a need for more community space in Chatham for larger events. We do not have affordable Church Hall type venues as you expereince in Rochester or Canterbury. Policy S16: Hierarchy of Centres

Representation ID: 3777

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Bryan Fowler

Representation Summary:

Greater emphasis and purpose should be given to developing Chatham's retail offer. Shop occupancy seems to be supplier led rather than a collaborative approach e.g. Why is Sainsbury's proposing a mediocre "top up store". Why are B&M and Wickes seemingly being edged out in favour housing? Why do we have a car centred business in the pedestrain precint of Chatham High High Street

Policy S17: Chatham Town Centre

Representation ID: 3782

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Bryan Fowler

Representation Summary:

The library as a strategic anchor should be considered. It is an educational asset more than a leisure or communication conduit. Is there any evidence there are strong university links? Chatham Railway station needs a new forecourt which should open out to the bus stops nearby, as originally envisaged.
