Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Policy S5: Securing Strong Green and Blue Infrastructure

Representation ID: 3563

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Andrew Lawrence

Representation Summary:

As stated previously Medway is blessed with much open space including the river and marshes. Accessing existing green and blue infrastructure is welcomed but my view is that development proposals are far dense and that individuals and families need living space in which to frow.

Over dense housing means invariable that some residents will live in spaces with direct sunlight that are dull and wet and overlooked on all sides. Some existing open space should be sacrificed so that density can be reduced.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Policy S6: Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Landscape

Representation ID: 3567

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Andrew Lawrence

Representation Summary:

I agree with this policy but existing plans for Gibraltar Farm and Lidsing push right up against the AONB and the urbanisation of Capstone Valley will be very damaging to those living around it. Based on existing plans including Lidsing Village 5000+ homes will be built in the existing land and I think that this is totally unacceptable given the total absence of infrastructure proposals.

Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2024)

Policy DM3: Air Quality

Representation ID: 3578

Received: 08/09/2024

Respondent: Mr Andrew Lawrence

Representation Summary:

Air quality in Medway is affected by regional and national factors outside our control such as prevailing winds. Consideration should be given to banning (not taxing) the most polluting vehicles using Medway's Roads. Measures to change how we heat our homes and provide energy for industry should be done pragmatically taking into account likely impact on cost to individuals and businesses and the economic costs.
