I'm not convinced that Medway achieving "City Status" will be of benefit. Maybe the efforts will be a distraction from the rest of the "vision".

I agree with the objectives. Housing developments in the area seem at odds with the objectives. Recent housing developments in Medway do not address the climate emergency and have added to the backlog of sub standard buildings needing retro fitting. Im unaware of any plan that will prevent further addition to the back log

Medway needs to ensure new dwellings are carbon negative. New development should be focused on producing compact urban areas with a reduced need for travelling in all areas

Again agree with all of the above but ask that the Council, aware that Medway is already more densely populated than neighbouring authorities ask that the authority should only have to approve housing numbers that reflect Medway's housing need.

Absolutely affordable homes in the right places to meet the needs of those currently living in over crowded , substandard and unhealthy homes. According to the mentioned "Local Housing Need Assessment " Medway Needs 4278 dwellings including 1,200 council houses.
The focus mus be on those most in need. The council must resist the "dwelling led Standard Method".
