Medway Local Plan (Regulation 18, 2023)

5.15

Representation ID: 423

Received: 06/10/2023

Respondent: Mrs Jill Norton

Representation Summary:

The council should always be clear and transparent about the outcomes from the Strategic Assessments and as a matter of course openly share the documents and assessments leading to their decisions. History has shown there has been an absolute unwillingness to do this especially in terms of the proposed development of circa 800 homes at High Halstow. Be honourable going forward. Give residents confidence in your commitment to protect us.

You need to actively engage other public sector services such as health and education for this concept to be truly effective. Based on the demands with these services that is extremely challenging and probably undeliverable especially in the short term

As per all my previous comments this is wanton destruction of this extremely importable agricultural and environmentally diverse and important land. Once it is destroyed there is no going back and future generations will suffer.

As per all my previous comments this is wanton destruction of this extremely importable agricultural and environmentally diverse and important land. Once it is destroyed there is no going back and future generations will suffer. It has of course been popular to ex and current members of the council as it is not their area. This area MUST be protected for the future. The roads ad other infrastructure are also inadequate and have had no investment in them. We are a forgotten area of Medway and it seems like this plan is just taking an easy course to stick all the development here.
