All green belt areas, AONB, ancient woodland and protected landscapes should not be considered for development. Once they are built on they are lost to future generations for ever.

this is too high and needs recalculation. Any development site granted planning permission should have to be built within the plan period or lose the planning permission. Requirements for household submissions are that planning lapses if work is not started within 3 years, this should be extended to all planning permissions granted.

The proposed Cuxton site is 19 hectares doubling the existing village. 1,600 cars exiting and entering the village during peak times would overwhelm the village causing large queues of traffic along Bush Road as they try to exit onto the A228. This already happens during the school run. Queues of traffic means a reduction in air quality. This site is wholly within the AONB and is protected metropolitan greenbelt. It is not sustainable, a 1.5 mile walk to train station/1 mile walk to nearest bus stop. Narrow road so no possible provision of a foot path or safe cycle route.
Very concerned about proposed enlarging of Cuxton. The proposed site is 19 hectares and would potentially be for 800 houses. This would double the size of the existing village. another 1,600 cars exiting and entering the village during peak times would overwhelm the village causing large queues of traffic along Bush Road as they try to exit onto the A228. This already happens during the school run. Queues of traffic means a reduction in air quality. This site is wholly within the AONB and is protected metropolitan greenbelt. Its setting within the AONB and proximity to a protected rural hamlet is the reason for a previous planning application being refused. It is also not sustainable, with a 1.5 mile walk to the train station and 1 mile walk to the nearest bus stop. The road is narrow so no possible provision of a foot path or safe cycle route. this would lead to a total reliance on motor vehicles.

coalescence of settlements should be avoided. The A228 is a long corridor of developments that is eroding the distinction between Halling and Cuxton. Any further development in these villages should be avoided.

If no house building is carried out for Gravesham then no greenbelt land needs to be used. Green belt land should be discounted. it is there for a reason. Concentration should be on urban regeneration

this is the best solution as there is good existing infrastructure and utilises already developed land.

the Lidsing Development in Maidstone's Local Plan provides for improvements to Junction 4 that would benefit other developments in this area.
