Policy T40: Wastewater Treatment
Representation ID: 4095
Received: 08/09/2024
Respondent: Miss Rachael Selleck
I do not agree with the current management, treatment, and disposal of wastewater and sewage sludge. Dumping it into water sources is unacceptable and harmful. In Allhallows, this practice led to the disappearance of all aquatic life in the ditches, causing severe ecological damage. Only recently, after improvements, have I begun to see some aquatic life returning. This experience highlights the need for better, more sustainable methods to manage wastewater and sewage sludge to protect our environment and restore natural habitats effectively.

Policy S25: Energy Supply

I live in Allhallows and fully support the idea of renewable and low carbon energy development in Kingsnorth and the Isle of Grain, as long as any potential adverse impacts, including cumulative landscape and visual impacts, are effectively managed. This could also help address the frequent power cuts we experience. However, it's crucial that any necessary work is carried out with minimal disruption, ensuring that residents are not left without power for extended periods. Proper planning and execution are key to achieving these goals.
