Medway has some of the best farmland in the United Kingdom and we are not even self-sufficient in the food that could be produced locally. We need to avoid making this worse by building on farmland anywhere in Medway as this will be seen as an insult to those residents struggling to feed their families.

We need to avoid any increase in peoples’ need to travel and should not be part of the Local Plan.

I understand that this plan is close to Medway's boundary and is therefore likely to affect Medway's facilities and road network. This should not be part of the local Plan.

As these are of international importance current threats to their support for bird life, biodiversity and natural habitat must be avoided including all proposed large scale future housing development on the Hoo Peninsula.

I agree. The Peninsula is an ideal location for developing green technologies. The Local Plan can encourage any new buildings associated with it, to demonstrate the very latest in carbon negative building technology.
